As reported by CNA on 30 September 2022, a group of masked feminists tried to set fire to the main entrance of Bogata Cathedral in the night of 28 September and sprayed pro-abortion graffiti on the walls.

World Watch Research analyst Rossana Ramirez comments: “The context for this attempted arson attack was the march through the capital celebrating the legalization of abortion in Colombia. (Just months ago, in February 2022, the Constitutional Court decriminalized abortion up to 24 weeks of pregnancy.)  Feminist groups took part in the march and it is a worrying trend that demonstrations in favor of abortion always seem to include acts of vandalism against churches, where Christian teaching is known to oppose their views. The authorities do not seem interested in making any arrests, which shows they are not prepared to fight for guaranteeing religious freedom.”
