One person was killed when Boko Haram militants attacked a hospital in Cameroon’s Far North region in the early hours of 2 July 2022, as reported by The Times Bureau on 2 July 2022.
World Watch Research analyst Yonas Dembele comments: “Boko Haram has increased attacks on civilian and military targets over the last two months. The violence caused by jihadists is exacerbated by the separatist insurgency and also by inter-communal violence. The resultant insecurity has made Cameroon an easy target for those seeking to uproot Christianity and other opposing religions, and to institute their own radical version of Islam. There is no indication that the levels of violence will fall so long as the factors encouraging this still exist.”
